Clear answers to the questions we hear most.
Sessions and structure
No. All new clients begin with a First Session.
For follow-up sessions, you can choose the session focus when booking. That gives the session a clear starting point while leaving room to adapt the work to what you need on the day.
First sessions are booked as a 90-minute slot to allow time for proper assessment and response. We will discuss your background, identify what is relevant, and set a clear direction before the hands-on work begins.
The aim is not simply to give you time on the table, but to do something useful with it.
That depends on your context and what you are working on. Some people come occasionally for recovery or reset, while others come more regularly during periods of higher load. We can discuss this after a session if it would be helpful.
Style and intensity
It can be deeply relaxing, but the work goes beyond relaxation alone. Sessions are tailored to what you need on the day. For some people, that means slowing down and switching off. For others, it means relieving stubborn tension, improving movement, supporting recovery, or preparing for demanding training or work. The aim is to give you the treatment that will be most useful on the day.
Some sessions involve more targeted or deeper work, while others are gentler and more settling. The focus is always on effectiveness rather than force, and pressure is adjusted throughout based on your feedback and preference.
Depending on the session, you may leave feeling more energised or more deeply relaxed, but not flattened.
Most people leave feeling better, lighter and more at ease in their body. After more focused work, it is possible to feel a little tender for a day or two, in the same way you might after effective physical treatment or training. This is usually mild and short-lived. If you prefer a gentler approach, just say so and we will work within it.
Practicalities
Wear whatever is comfortable to arrive in. For the session, you can undress to your level of comfort. Most clients remove clothing down to their underwear, as this allows effective work across common areas of tension.
Towels are used throughout for professional draping at all times. Oil is used during the work, so it is best not to wear delicate or expensive clothing underneath.
